SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Materials & Processes Engineering Specialist is responsible to ensure product integrity during design, manufacturing, repair, and aftermarket service.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
• Evaluate, qualify, approve and specify all M&P used on landing gear design components.
• Technically support manufacturing operations related to M&P: specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, process techniques, deviations, substitutions, repair, MRB dispositions, certifications, corrective action, operator training certification, internal and external audits, efficiency and cost reduction projects.
• Act as a delegated M&PE approved by customer for all manufactured designated parts: manufacturing plan and process technique approval, as applicable.
• Represent the company as an active M&P member and subscriber within the Nadcap councils: meeting, task groups, internal processes and external process supplier accreditation.
• High level of responsibility: Must be able to operate independently. Must be able to make sound engineering decisions.
QUALIFICATION:
• Bachelor degree in materials or metallurgical engineering.
• Minimum of Four (4) years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace.
• Expertise in landing gear materials and processes related, such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes.
• Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing

• Able to work on many issues at the same time with the sense of priority.
• Good skill to write technical report and communicate
• Low level of supervision: She/he maintains the department head up-to-date with major issues in the field of M&PE.
• Available to travel between local sites and outside of country when necessary.
