Summary:
Perform a range of structural assembly tasks, including fitting, drilling, riveting, and checking assemblies to ensure they meet all requirements.
This role supports production by following detailed instructions and utilizing tools to assemble parts and structures.
Perform structural assembly and fitting operations, using various tools (e.g., riveting guns, drills, reamers) to ensure parts meet requirements.
Rivet assemblies and parts using pneumatic tools, ensuring proper hole patterns and alignment.
Read and follow work orders, blueprints, and operation sheets to complete tasks in the correct sequence.
Ensure assemblies are defect-free before final inspection.
Maintain logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs) and comply with safety and 5S program requirements.
Work under moderate supervision and support Lean manufacturing activities.
Required Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required
1 year of related structural assembly experience required
Graduates of the Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program may receive 1 year of experience credit.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and 6" scale.
Basic shop math skills.
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and hands-on craftwork aptitude.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/stairs, and work in confined spaces.
Ability to work any shift.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam.
Knowledge of composite resins and materials.
Demonstrates good housekeeping and safety practices.
