The Senior Engineer is responsible for leading a mix of Upgrade & Accessory projects for new and fielded aircraft. The primary focus of the position is to grow the product portfolio for the Services Development & Engineering team. This must be done with compliance of the governing FAA regulations and company specifications. The Senior Engineer must be able to run medium sized projects, coordinating easily with many other areas of the company and outside vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Generate Upgrades & Accessories for new and fielded aircraft Integration of mechanical systems and equipment, including: Requirements, development, and traceability Research and identification of potential solutions to design objectives Detail design and installation Test case development, execution, and troubleshooting on both bench and aircraft
Coordinate design development and system integration within Cirrus and with vendors Generate products to meet FAR Part 23 requirements Lead the coordination of Field Alterations & Repairs in support of Upgrades & Accessories Support the generation of Service Bulletins for Upgrades & Accessories

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) required 6+ years experience with general aviation aircraft/mechanical systems and interior equipment & furnishings preferred Experience with aircraft mechanical systems development processes and requirements traceability preferred Mechanical systems design, integration, installation, testing and certification experience preferred Basic knowledge of aircraft, automotive, or consumer mechanical systems preferred FAA certification experience preferred Experience supporting field aircraft desired
