Job Description:
Able to work out of Gateway to Space in New Mexico (Spaceport America)
Able to work either 2nd shift or 3rd shift.
2nd shift is weekday evenings: M-F, approximately 3p-11p
3rd shift is: Thur-Sun, approximately 7a-4p. (basically weekend days)
10+ years Aerospace Stress Experience
Prior experience working MRB / AOG issues required
Includes related signature authority (this may be referred to as "NCR's", "NRIs", "Tags", "Non-conformances", etc.)
Experienced in both metallic AND composite stress analysis.
Experience with FEMAP is a STRONG plus.
Patran experience is acceptable.
Required Skills:
Key Skills: CATIA V5, Femap, Nastran, MRB Stress, COMPOSITES and HAND CALCS / CLASSICAL ANALYSIS Experience in aircraft or spacecraft composite fabrication, design, and analysis processes
Knowledge of composites manufacturing and sizing of composite structures using FEA models, including pre and post processing of NASTRAN models and associated sizing of composite structures
Minimum 10 years or more of applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element based methods
Experience with free-body diagrams and classical stress analysis techniques
Hands-on experience with composites part fabrication and assembly processes and proficiency in FEMAP a must.
Pilot, aircraft homebuilding and rapid prototyping experience a strong plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
Experience with manufacturing-based ERP systems, such as Oracle, is a plus Applicants
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline
