Sr. Project Systems Engineer

Description:
Working under limited general direction:

60% - Develops hardware and software requirements for chemical and electric rocket propulsion systems product development. Responsible for derivation, allocation, and documentation of requirements in requirements database and specifications. Coordinates requirements, interfaces, and related specification change management with IPT members. Defines and coordinates requirements verification plans with integrated product team members, plans and manages compliance assessment and certification.

15% - Performs functional analysis and coordinates system trade studies. Coordinates selection of optimized concept baselines through benefit/cost trades in support of definition of system architecture and objectives.

15% - Leads project risk assessment and management and prepares and reports results on mitigation plans.

10% - Communicates results in oral presentations and written communication.

Skills:

-Provide systems engineering support for a large liquid engine program.

-Responsibilities include assisting teams leaders in managing existing requirements, evaluating relevant industry and government specifications, performing derivation activities, interface management, documentation of risks and opportunities, and verification planning.

-Systems engineering assignments will require a wide application of advanced systems engineering principles, theories and concepts in the field.

-May provide guidance to less experienced engineers on team. Model Based Engineering (MBE)/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience is a plus.
