Description:
Aero Logistics Engineer focuses on the analysis and technical coordination to develop affordable and supportable military systems for company aircraft. The position is responsible for supporting the development of support systems within the IPTs. These support system resources include: Level of Repair Analysis(LORA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode Effect & Critical Analysis (FMECA), Provisioning/SupplySupport, Task/Maintenance Plan Analysis, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), Paper-based manuals, Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB), Support Equipment, PHS&T, and Repair Parts and Special Tool List (RPSTLs), and Industry MIL-STD documents and manuals, which span across multiple aircraft platforms, modifications, and development programs. This position focuses on the design of inherent supportability into the analysis and the associated design, analysis and optimization of the customers' military support system.

Position Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates a working knowledge and the requisite skill sets to work within the IPT/organization.
2. Performs all assigned tasks to an acceptable quality standard with minimal supervision.
3. Compliant to company processes, procedures, and applicable government regulations.
4. Support and assist in data preparation and presentation for program reviews and perform other work as directed.

    Education Requirements
    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering required. Other technical degrees may be considered with relevant work experience.


    Position Requirements

    Experience at all levels will be considered with a minimum of 5 years specific experience with embedded control software development. Preference will be given for additional work in sensor and actuator controls, avionics, or electrical systems integration, development, and testing.

    Familiarity with relevant standards, for example: RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems.

    Structural Engineer III Job duties:

    * Examine complex metallic and composite structures and systems
    * Familiarity with aircraft structure/construction
    * Familiarity with industry standard analytical methods (Niu, Bruhn, etc.)
    * Experience in both classical structural analysis and finite element analysis of metallic and composite aircraft primary and secondary structure
    * Ability to prioritize workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demands
    * Ability to communicate with all levels of management, customers, and individual contributors

    Qualifications:

    * Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline and 6 or more years of relevant experience
    * Demonstrate working knowledge of regulatory and applicable airworthiness criteria including Mil-hdbk-516C and/or 14 CFR Part 25 and Part 23
    * Knowledge and experience of aircraft modification programs
    * Experience in damage tolerance analysis of metallic aircraft structure
    * Experience with MSC Patran/Nastran or Siemens Femap/NX Nastran
    * Solidworks and/or CATIA experience. Understands Product Lifecycle Management
    * Experience in Structural Dynamics/Vibration analysis
    * Experience with narrow body transport category aircraft
    * Experienced in execution of government contracts
    * Experience in integrating mission systems across a wide variety of primary/secondary structure
    * Experience in VBA programming

    A Structural Stress Engineer II job in Louisville, CO is currently available through Belcan with one of our Aerospace/Defense clients. You will be using your skills and expertise to design, evaluate, and certify cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems.     Structural Stress Engineer II Job duties:

    * Support the development of primary and secondary structures for spacecraft
    * Design, analysis, production, testing, and integration of development and flight hardware.
    Understand, plan, and execute technical activities in accordance with company policies,
    procedures, and work instructions and specific Customer requirements
    * Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures,
    reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities
    * Prepare material for, and conduct, periodic design reviews.
    * Execute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customer quality,
    cost, and schedule requirements

    Qualifications:
    * Requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    * 3+ years of relevant experience
    * Familiarity with fiber reinforced polymer composites analysis including classical laminate
    theory and finite element modeling techniques
    * Static test analysis and test correlation
    * Fiber reinforced polymer composite materials
    * Structures for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles
    * Laminate optimization
    * Dynamic loads analysis
    * Development and application of spacecraft and aircraft loads and environments
    * Progressive failure analysis and damage tolerance
    * NASA and/or FAA structural design standards
    * The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
