Description:
Job Title: Software Engineer 1
Duration: 12 Months (With possibility of extension)
Location: Titusville, FL
Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Overtime expected)


Job responsibilities:
• This systems security position requires someone with excellent engineering capabilities, and presentations skills.
• You are passionate about cyber security, customer satisfaction, computer programming, quality, team building, and continuous process improvements.
• You have background in software development and hardware integration for the purposes of being able to identify security concerns and for being able to communicate with hardware and software engineers.
• You will also integrate with a team of other security professionals.
• Assists presentations to other security professionals, to stakeholders, to NASA representatives, to Quality Assurance and to other interested parties.
• Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions with an emphasis on network, hardware and software security.
• Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, technical parameter integration and compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces from a security perspective.
• Performs security analyses that provide safety, reliability, regulatory, certification, maintainability, testability, automation, human systems integration, vulnerability, and system security quality factors to ensure mission success.
• Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risks, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes with an emphasis on security.

Responsibility:
Cyber Security Engineer – Level 1
• Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
• Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
• Gathers information to support software project management.
• Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics.
• Supports software research and development projects.
• Troubleshoots basic software issues. Works under close supervision.



Education / Experience:
• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
• In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.


Position Comments:
• C++ experience is very important.
