Mechanical engineer Level 4

Description:
Mechanical Engineer needed to Lead a multi-discipline team responsible for further development-of and make production ready a replacement coating system. The position will report directly to program management providing status and directing the team to balance technical needs and maintain schedule. The candidate will not only lead the team but also provide technical direction and review/approve changes related to M+P.

The assignment will be to lead the activities (and staff) to mature and productionize the replacement coating. The assignment includes but is not limited to:

• Lead multi-discipline team/report to JASSM management.
• Lead activities to productionize coating
• Work with Planning to maintain IMS on track
• Validate Coating
• Qualify Coating to Production Requirements
• Lead coating of hardware activities
• Lead Pole Model Activities (new process validation/qualification)
• Work with Production Operations and Low Observable (LO) engineers to define Robot sprayers requirements
• Assist with classified finish kit drawings

Mandatory skills:

Must be USC.
Must be able to sit onsite at facility.
Active secret required to start.
Minimum 10 years experience working as a Materials and Process Engineer.
A strong foundation in Materials and Processing (M+P) is required for this effort.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in a Material Science and or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Familiarity with aerospace materials, processes, and LO coatings -Prior experience with leading a team and overseeing large material validation, process development, and testing efforts.
Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills.
