PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled and motivated PLC Controls Engineer II to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in industrial automation, material handling systems, and Allen-Bradley PLCs. You’ll play a key role in commissioning high-speed sortation and conveyor systems at client sites nationwide.
What You’ll Do
Lead commissioning of PLC and HMI software for automated material handling systems
Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs using Studio 5000
Perform I/O validation, QA/QC testing, and system readiness checks
Support BUAT/UAT/FAT testing and provide post-installation support
Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with safety standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide customer training
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
4+ years of experience in controls engineering for material handling systems
Proficiency with Studio 5000 and Allen-Bradley PLCs
Experience with conveyors, sorters, and high-speed sortation systems
Familiarity with post and parcel operations (strongly preferred)
Technical Skills:
PLC & HMI: Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Wonderware Aveva Edge, FactoryTalk View
Strong project planning and budgeting capabilities
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
Preferred Background:
Experience with Alliant Technologies or Factory Technologies
Background in post and parcel automation projects

Pay Details: $41.00 to $45.00 per hour
