Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of circuit card assemblies and electronic systems. This role involves overseeing PCB management, integrating various engineering disciplines, and managing major electrical engineering projects. The successful candidate will also drive process improvements, provide technical support, and offer leadership in technical development.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:
Lead the design and development of circuit card assemblies and electronic systems.
PCB Management:
Oversee the specification, control, and fabrication processes of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
Integration:
Integrate electronic design, PCB layout, and component engineering to ensure efficient product development.
Project Coordination:
Direct and manage significant electrical engineering projects and support programs within a matrix organization.
Process Improvement:
Define and implement processes and tools to enhance product quality and performance.
Technical Support:
Provide technical support to customers and internal teams as needed.
Technical Leadership:

Technology Monitoring:
Stay updated with the latest technologies in processes, components, and designs.
Expert Guidance:
Serve as a technical expert or Principal Investigator and lead peer reviews for technical development.
Documentation:
Ensure accurate review and release of electrical drawings and documentation.
Troubleshooting:
Participate in troubleshooting circuit card assemblies and perform root cause corrective actions (RCCAs).
Process Management:

Process Definition:
Develop and enforce engineering design processes and provide training for staff.
Phase Transitions:
Manage transitions between major development process phases, ensuring completion and approval of requirements.
Development Program Oversight:

Budget Management:
Negotiate and establish budgets for development programs and secure budget commitments from staff.
Performance Review:
Analyze cost and performance reports, identify areas for improvement, and adjust estimates based on past performance.
Administration:

Staff Management:
Oversee performance reviews, career development, and training programs for staff.
General Admin:
Manage administrative tasks including time card approvals, vacation requests, and disciplinary actions.
Staffing & Task Assignment:

Recruitment:
Handle recruiting efforts including job descriptions, resume reviews, and interviews.
Personnel Allocation:
Assign personnel to programs and track department budgets.
New Business Support:

Proposal Support:
Contribute to technical proposal development, including technical approaches, cost estimates, and customer interactions.
Technical Writing:
Collaborate with engineers to author and publish white papers and technical articles.
Requirements:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years in Electronic Engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
Citizenship:
Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:
At least 2 years as an Engineering Manager in a matrix organization.
Industry Knowledge:
Recent technical experience in Aerospace, Military/Aerospace, or Space applications.
