Manufacturing Engineer

Description:
Manufacturing Engineer - Contractor 6+ months
Essential Functions
Maintains bills of manufacture (engineering masters) in ERP system.
Designs tools and fixtures and works with Logistics to have them manufactured in-house or by external suppliers.
Troubleshoots all shop floor problems with manufacturing, logistics, QA, and engineering personnel. This will include review and disposition of Non-Conforming Material (NCM’s) from in-house or external suppliers.
Specifies and documents manufacturing processes as necessary for successful part manufacture.
Reviews ECN (Engineering Change Notices) and makes appropriate changes.
Interfaces with Engineers on all design, tooling, test, and rework recommendations. Supports Engineering during design phase on new products.
Quality: Work with QA to help review inspection methods internally, and external supplier machining processes.
Works on continuously improving Manufacturing Engineering procedures and methods by using changing technology to reduce overall production costs.

Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related Technology preferred.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing.
Experience with AC Induction Motors a plus.
CAD experience required. SOLIDWORKS design software preferred.
Strong understanding of machining and best practices. 5 Axis experience a plus.
General understanding of rotating machines is a plus.
Microsoft Word and Excel experience required.
Solid understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
ISO and Lean manufacturing experience a plus. (Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, etc.)
ITAR Compliant US citizen only.
Ability to travel (domestic and international)
