STS AeroStaff Services now offers Aviation Receiving Inspector jobs in Jamaica, New York!
Job Summary:
The Inspector ensures all parts and materials brought into the system for the support and maintenance of aircraft are serviceable and airworthy. The Inspector ensures quality standards are maintained throughout the process of certification and acceptance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Perform general visual inspection with attention to criteria to indicate possible unapproved parts condition
• Ensure parts are not damaged upon receipt from business partner
• Ensure parts are received with the proper supporting documentation
• Certify parts are from an approved source and for use
• Determine if all parts and materials are serviceable or unserviceable per the requirements of the General Maintenance Manual and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
• Receives clear, detailed, and specific instructions and consults with Crewleader/Teamleader on all matters outside the scope of daily responsibilities/activities
• Receives general instructions on what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments from Crewleader/Teamleader
• Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction but receives additional specific instructions from Crewleader/Teamleader for new, difficult, or special projects/assignments
• Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation
• Consults with Crewleader/Teamleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents
• Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives
• Keeps Crewleader/Teamleader informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications
• Plans, designs, and carries out programs, projects, studies, or other work independently
• Receives little or no supervision from Crewleader/Teamleader
• Trains and assigns work to Crewmembers/Teammembers on an occasional basis; performs the same work as the group on a regular basis
• Trains, assigns work to, and checks work of one (1) Crewmember/Teammember; does not conduct the same work as that Crewmember/Teammember on a regular basis
• Trains, assigns work to, and checks work of two (2) or more Crewmembers/Teammembers; participates in the decision to hire, fire, and promote Crewmembers/Teammembers; does not conduct the same work as Crewmembers/Teammembers on a regular basis
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
• At least one of the following requirements must be met: Quality Control Inspector with a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, or holds a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate with previous receiving inspection experience (for one (1) year in the last two (2) years), or worked in a Materiel Services Department for one (1) year, at least six (6) months of which have been in receiving parts and materials
• One (1) year parts and material handling or processing experience with a commercial airline
• One (1) year of previous receiving inspection experience preferred but not required
• Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate preferred
• Possess and maintain a valid Driver License in the country in which you are applying
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Organizational fit for the culture, that is, exhibit the values of Safety, Caring, Integrity,

• Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
• Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
• Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Effective communication skills; complete fluency in written and spoken English
• Possess the ability to interpret manuals and technical data
• Write technically in order to maintain required documentation as it pertains to aircraft parts
• Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined spaces
• Ability to think creatively
• Able to work under pressure in a team environment
• Familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to aircraft parts and airworthiness
