Embedded Software Engineer
An Embedded Software Engineer job in Pittsburgh, PA is currently available at Belcan. This job is a one year contract position supporting our customer at their facility. The job does have the potential to be extended for additional year contracts. To be considered for this job, you will need Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or another related discipline. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will contribute to the customer's Innovation and Technology Development Division by supporting robotics perception software engineering. This job will help develop and demonstrate automation technologies, which are often used in conjunction with information systems, remote control, semi autonomous, and fully autonomous machine control systems.
Embedded Software Engineer job duties:
* Research and develop new technology in develop perception software for personnel detect, object detection, tracking, classification, terrain mapping, localization, etc.
* Solve analytical problems and debugging software.
* Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units.
* Participate in R&D programs through entire lifecycle, from initial inception through production and maintenance phases.
* Work with team leads, software architect, algorithm experts, to understand software requirements and design software for embedded applications.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor"s or Master"s degree in Robotics, Computer vision, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, etc.
* Bachelor"s degree with 5 years or Master"s degree with 3 years industry experience in FPGA development.
* Proficient with VHDL.
* Proficient with FPGA design tools such as Vivado, Xilinx system generator, and model based design using tools such as Matlab/Simulink, model composer, SD SOC/HLS C Code.
* Experience developing with SoC devices such as Xilinx Zynq and Zynq UltraScale+.
* Experience with interfacing FPGAs to ARM.
* Strong background in C/C++ in embedded environments and version control software.
Top candidates will also have:
* Experience with driver development for sensors such as cameras, lidars, radars and inertial measurement units.
* Experience with a real time operating systems.
* Experience with high-speed interface bus architectures (e.g. Ethernet, PCIe).
* Experience with FPGA computer vision.
* Knowledge of GIT.
* Ability to develop Linux BSPs for custom hardware with Xilinx MPSoCs.
* Ability to build/modify linux kernel for MPSoC and write kernel level drivers.
* Linux application background ex: gstreamer, OpenCV etc.
