Scrum Master-Agile Expert

About the Role:
You will join a team that works with a challenging mixture of newer and older technologies. You
will be responsible for ensuring the team follows the processes and practices that the team agreed
in order to guarantee our software meets critical security requirements, provides a smooth user
experience and is rugged in production. Our SQA and DEV teams work closely together in an
atmosphere of cooperation and camaraderie. While some companies support a smaller number
of web sites, we develop and support a myriad of applications that allow our clients to provide
sites to hundreds of business customers. Security is critical to everything we do. As a valued

What does a great Scrum Master do?
You will use your high-level technical understanding of software development and
extensive experience to provide effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership and
coaching skills to support the teams within our agile development process.
As an agile expert, you will be responsible for enforcing the agile tenants as interpreted
by our team, removing impediments and promoting empowerment.
The position is highly responsible and accountable, and you will challenge the teams to
both adopt and improve agile best practices. And at the end of the day, you will be the
communication conduit that will provide critical information to our partnering groups and
leadership.
 
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
Experience executing on Scrum Master and Release Engineer responsibilities that
Include:
Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint
and release planning, demos and other Scrum/Kanban-related meetings
Manage complicated parallel application development and project
implementation processes
Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress, maintain
process documentation
Ensure that the development teams are practicing/following core agile principles
of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
Update physical and electronic agile tracking systems to provide transparency on
Java Developer product backlogs and in-progress work; Manage release schedules, scope, and
artifacts; Support Development Managers and Project Leads as necessary
Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and
information sharing
Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and
task definition; Identify and remove impediments; Prevent distractions that
interfere with the ability of the team to deliver on release goals; Facilitate
discussion and conflict resolution
Empower the teams to self-organize; improve the productivity of the teams;
ensure that the team strives to make each increment of functionality potentially
releasable
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or
equivalent education in a related discipline is required. Related work experience can be
substituted for education requirements.
Must be a Certified Scrum Master or 3+ years Scrum Master experience
Ideal candidate will have 8+ years of technology experience
Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and
procedures, including Kanban and Scrum as well as working knowledge of the software
development lifecycle (SDLC) is required
Ability to hold team members accountable, set clear sprint/release performance
standards, resolve sprint/release performance issues, keep team engaged and on task
and coach them on Agile best practices
Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills, including the
ability to communicate status to executive level management
Experience with teams performing new development for large scale, technically complex
projects for a large enterprise while simultaneously supporting production applications is
a must
Experience with negotiating prioritization between Product Owners and Technical
Leadership
Must be highly adaptable to a constantly changing environment, self-motivated, as well
as, creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
Must be collaborative in driving decisions and able to deal with multiple projects and
deadlines
Excellent results-driven team leadership skills are required


Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
• Experience working with web application development teams
• Experience working on integration projects
• Knowledge of SOC1 and PCI audit controls
