EE Technician

Description:
PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking  an EE Technician, in Cupertino, CA.

Summary:
Apply the fundamentals of digital photography and learn the latest innovations in camera hardware design, computational photography and image quality assessment.

- Capture and collect images and data using early prototypes and developmental hardware to support failure analysis, design qualification, component improvement, form-factor design, image quality tuning and future technology exploration efforts.

- Stage and capture subjective camera image quality tests using various props, realistic models, scenery and lab-based environmental simulations.

- Operate, calibrate and maintain an array of professional photography equipment, optoelectronic instrumentation, rapid prototyping capabilities, image quality testers and automation platforms.

- Exposure to MATLAB and Python software development and debugging for operating automated equipment, data processing and analysis.

 - Work closely with client engineering team to help design, build and test innovative robotics & automation platforms used in the development and testing of future client products and imaging systems.

- Opportunity to expand knowledge across various engineering fields such as optical, electrical, mechanical, software and systems design to support fixturing, test bring-up and lab automation efforts.
 

    Required Skills:
                  .
    - Minimum 5 years experience in lab technician or engineering support role or hold Bachelor’s degree in engineering field.

    - Good understanding of digital photography fundamentals and exposure to DSLR camera operation in manual mode.

    - Proficient with Microsoft Excel/client Numbers for data collection, summary and reporting.

    - High attention to detail and procedural thinking.

    - Improvement-oriented mindset and willingness to help foster team innovation and individual growth.

    - Effective communicator that uses teamwork to build relationships, embrace diversity and help achieve collective success.

    - Willingness to relocate to Santa Clara Valley, CA.

    - Familiarity with Mac operating system and client ecosystem a huge plus.

    - Experience using automated test equipment or working with collaborative robotics.

    - Experience with MATLAB or Python programming languages and basic coding principles.

    - Experience with mechanical prototyping using various hand tools, power tools and/ or rapid prototyping equipment.

     - Experience using common optical measurement equipment such as illuminance meters, colorimeters, spectrometers and optical power meters.

    Preferred Additional Experience (some or all may apply)

    - Experience using automated test equipment or working with collaborative robotics.
    - Experience with MATLAB or Python programming languages and basic coding principles.
    - Experience with mechanical prototyping using various hand tools, power tools and/ or rapid prototyping equipment.
     - Experience using common optical measurement equipment such as illuminance meters, colorimeters, spectrometers and optical power meters.
    - Experience using bench-top electrical tools such as oscilloscopes, function generators, DMMs, and power supplies.
    - Ability to read and interpret basic electronic schematics.
    - Ability to perform module tear-downs, optical component retrofits and PCB electrical rework under digital microscope.
