FBW Actuation Lead Engineer

Description:
As the FBW Actuation Lead Engineer, you will report to the Flight Control System (FCS) IPT lead and be responsible for all activities related to the Fly-By-Wire actuation for the business jet. In addition to the traditional flight actuation solutions, some unique actuation technologies may be required to meet the requirements of this jet.

Your responsibilities would include:
• Develop flight control actuation design, architecture and support product plan development, including V&V, qualification and certification plans
• Provide subject matter expert level technical leadership, mentoring and guidance on both practical and theoretical aspects of flight control actuation systems
• Define requirements for the flight control actuation system to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements and flight control safety objectives
• Provide validation and verification of flight control actuation system requirements
• Plan and direct flight control actuation systems tests and certification, and provide system and certification documentation
• Participate in actuation modeling and simulation
• Interface directly with flight control actuation system suppliers
• Support managing the flight control actuation system scheduling, budget and resources
• Report subsystem status to ensure milestones are met in support of the overall program schedule

We're looking for someone who has:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering area, with a Master’s degree in a technical and/or management specialty preferred
• 15+ years of deep, hands-on experience in fly-by-wire flight control actuation systems development, design, and testing in a Military, Commercial, or business aircraft development programs
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience specific to fly-by-wire flight control actuation, hardware, actuation control electronics and hydraulic servo-valve and electro-mechanical actuation and associated technologies and managing system suppliers as the technical point of contact
• In-depth and current knowledge of Part 25 regulatory requirements, including FBW flight control Special Conditions and system development per ARP4754A and ARP4761
• Experience in primary flight control actuator performance specification, integration, force-fight and monitor designs
• Experience and expertise in the development of commercial and/or high-end business jets strongly desired
• Must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding, knowledge and ability to define requirements, generate architecture and achieve compliance
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret the results of engineering analyses
• Team leadership, strong decision making and communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets
