PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER IV – Interiors/Certifications(AP)

POSITION SUMMARY
Develop aircraft structure designs and interior cabinetry assembly/installation drawings. Understanding of sheet metal, composite honeycomb and veneer techniques for cabinetry design.
Attention to aesthetics of completed designs is very important.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
• Develop executive aircraft interior engineering packages based on market, product and certification requirements in order to ensure adherence to quality as well as the overall program cost and schedule goals
• Ensure project related engineering data is in compliance with corporate policies and certification requirements
• Applies technical principles, theories and concepts to solve a wide range of challenging engineering problems

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Experience:
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Aerospace or a related field.
• Prior executive aviation interior background is required
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Executive Aviation Interiors specialized functional discipline
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Demonstrated STC and 337 knowledge
• Certified as a FAA Designated Engineering Representative or have the ability to be certified
• Customer focused with good relationship building skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft interior, manufacturing, installation and certification
• Highly motivated
• Extensive knowledge in a specialty area and in all other interrelated tasks and responsibilities of the job function.
• Role takes leadership for applying new processes and skills to improve the function's status quo.
• Role requires innovative, critical thinking skills towards solving problems and anticipating future issues that may occur as a result of current decisions that are made.
• Role applies leading edge theories and techniques to resolve complex and often unusual tactical problems and issues impacting the department.
• Significant Impact beyond the confines of their own job and department based on their highly specialized work responsibilities.
• Errors typically have an adverse and significant impact on customer business, materials or equipment.
• Often needs to make decisions where not all factors are certain and clearly known.
• Not only performs assignments of an independent nature but frequently has input into the development of actual objectives to be achieved in their area of expertise.
• Work is formally reviewed only annually or Semi-Annually.
• Because of the role level's extensive experience and expertise requirements, may act as a mentor and contribute to other employee's professional development.
• Proficient computer skills with use of Microsoft office applications
• Proficient in CATIA is desired. Training will be provided if required
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Must possess good written and oral presentation skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to become involved in a number of projects in a fast paced work environment.
• Portuguese or Spanish language skills a plus

Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements
• Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
• Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
• Availability for domestic and international travel
