Senior Project Engineer

Description:
The Project Repair and Overhaul Engineering (GPE) position will perform an integral technical role that could be based in any of our factories or Service Centers. The position is part of the Global Repair & Overhaul Engineering Organization (GROE), Avionics-Electronics (AvEl) group.

The position provides an individual with the opportunity to exercise their diverse technical and specific product knowledge to define, create and implement: rework, repair and evaluation of avionic products.


Responsibilities:


Repair and Overhaul (R&O) Project Engineering (GPE) primary responsibilities:
Own and drive GROE Value Creation Process (VCP) and project tracking
 
Productivity and Cost Reduction


Actively seek out and identify areas to standardize the repair and test procedures for maximum savings and effectiveness across Service Centers.
Provide on-going Make vs. Buy vs. Repair analysis & identify areas of focus.
 
Technology & Implementation
Drive technology implementation projects to deliver operational improvements
Research new and existing technologies for potential application

Planning and Program Management


Liaison coordination between site repair development engineering, site quality, test engineering, product engineering and FAA DER for substantiation and authorization of engineering documentation.
Program manage repairs and projects using workflow tools and VCP
Develop and support M&PM strategies & participate on CSB's as required.
 
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or Project Management.
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR/Export Requirements.



Additional Qualifications:
High degree of Microsoft Office familiarization
PMP Certification
Knowledge of FAA regulations & processes on avionics and related software.
Understanding of FAR 21 (OEM-Factory) and FAR 145 (Repair Station).
Understanding of specific regulations DO 178, DO 254 and DO 160.
Understanding and compliance to export regulation and ITAR information.
Digital/analog component systems knowledge.
Knowledge of Interchangeability and Configuration Management.
Awareness of product test requirements and limitation of test equipment to replicate aircraft.
