Lead Embedded Software Engineer

Lead Software Engineer

This is a Contract-To-Hire Opportunity located in Mesa, AZ.

The most successful candidate will have 7-10+ years of RECENT C/C++ Windows embedded development.

It is preferable that you have experience developing within FDA standard protocols & regulations but we may consider an individual who is otherwise qualified and has worked under strict or safety-critical embedded development. This person will need to understand not only the similarities of the standards but also the differences.

Essential Functions:

Full lifecycle software development, including design, implementation, test and qualification of embedded software for FDA Certified Medical Devices
Capture requirements to ensure code meets customer expectations
Identify, evaluate and implement tools and processes to continually improve the software development process
Conduct code reviews and apply best practices and coding standards

Required Skills/Qualifications/Competencies:

BS in Computer Science or related degree
7-10+ years of hands-on experience with C/C++ on a Windows platform
Object Oriented software development
Strong documentation experience
Ability to work with little direct supervision, independently or in small teams
Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to communicate effectively with remote team members
Strong self-motivation and initiative
Capable of working on both high and low level software
The versatility to contribute to upfront requirements, architectural design, implementation and integration with full documentation

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Competencies

Medical device development experience
Debugging hardware using software
Manufacturing line control or test software
Experience with any of the following: Win32, MFC, Windows Embedded, USB development, LabVIEW.
