Accounting Analyst

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Accounting Analyst for an opening in West Hills, CA.

• Principle liaison with corporate payroll in preparation and processing of biweekly payroll
• Responsible for the coordination efforts between corporate payroll, human resources and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of headcount and employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g., overtime, leave balances, head count, PTO accrual balances, calculations of special payouts, commissions, terminated employees, LOA pays (STD, Caregiver, Bonding)
• Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. i.e. facilitate the setup new employees in the appropriate systems, and adherence to FLSA; monitor submissions of approved timesheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service
• Provide support in maintaining data integrity of employee records in Workday, i.e. cost center assignments, function; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization and adherence corporate and state guidelines
• Maintain employee confidentiality and protect payroll operations by keeping all private information confidential
• Prepare and review payroll accounting entries to be posted to the G/L for Accounting close, i.e. bonus accruals, payroll accruals, PTO accruals etc..
• Provide detailed analytics relating to headcount management and payroll related expenses
• Ability to work and lead tight monthly accounting/reporting deadlines.
• Participate in annual operating plan process, calendar, defining key deliverable due dates, and establishing review meetings and lead the site budget process
• Partner with team shared services accounting team and other departments to meet monthly corporate SAP/HFM accounting and finance submission deadlines.
• Must be proactive and strong in problem solving, trouble shooting, root cause analysis, identifying and reconciling accounting issues and working/managing a remote shared services team in Costa Rica.
• Ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned

• 3+ years’ experience in an Accounting or Finance role, with a solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting and analysis
• Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance
• Experience with eTime, ADP and Workday; SAP experience is a plus
• Qualified candidate must have exceptional critical/analytical thinking skills
• Strong skill set in MS Office products, particularly with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is also required.
• Individual must be professional and able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization while consistently delivering accurate work products and managing multiple deadlines.
• Must be able to work well under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a complex environment with strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills that demonstrates good judgement, tact, and diplomacy when working with internal customers
• Experience extracting data from and loading data to multiple financial systems
• Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills with ability to multi-task
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to step back and analyze the overall business impact
• Willingness to dig into details and analyze differences in various data sets
• The successful candidate also has very good overall business skills; he/she does not limit the scope of responsibilities of the current role but helps to develop solutions to broad business issues.

Accredited Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance
