Equipment Maintenance Technician

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician, in Melbourne, FL,
Primary Duties:

  • Familiarity with repair and maintaining SMT Line Equipment a plus.
  • Should possess basic electronic troubleshooting skills to diagnose symptoms to at least board level. Component level troubleshooting ability is a plus.
  • Ability to perform major and minor repairs, tests, and calibration for mechanical, electrical, and electronically controlled SMT Line equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic, electronic diagrams, and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Utilize assorted test equipment such as DVM meter (to measure voltage, current, and resistance), AC/DC power supplies, signal generators, and possible oscilloscope.
  • Perform scheduled, unscheduled and preventive maintenance on production equipment. Complete scheduled PM’s and adhere to assigned maintenance schedules.
  • Experience working with equipment OEM reps and outside contractors.
  • Follow and interpret machine OEM specifications.
  • Must be proactive and capable of working closely with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work well without supervision and deliver results under pressure.
  • Proficient with common computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Power Point, internet research, etc.)

Secondary Duties:
  • Support daily production schedule by completing preventive maintenance activities on time.
  • Familiarity with facility related items a plus (eg. compressed air systems, vacuum systems, pvc, copper, and galvanized plumbing.).
  • Must possess the ability to learn and understand security, fire, and energy management systems.
  • Work with equipment maintenance teammates during installation of new equipment, as well as moving and setting up existing equipment.
  • Assist with installation and facility hookups for work tables, lamps, and other minor production-related equipment.
  • Chemical handling will be required. (Our equipment maintenance technicians are required to use solvents, to aid in the PM process. IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) is the most common. Touleen is sometimes required too, but not too often)


  • Must have ability to interpret electrical wiring, mechanical, and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Associate's degree in appropriate discipline, and two years of related experience, or, in the absence of an associate's degree, high school diploma or equivalent plus five years of related experience.
  • Applicant should possess a valid driver's license.
  • Applicant must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, with no restrictions. Over 50 pounds would be assisted lifting or with equipment
