Materials & Process Engineer III - MP&P Engineer (PA)

MP&P Engineer 3 Assignment
Defines requirements for materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture of products. Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes. Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Promotes standardization across business activities. Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs. Develops and qualifies new materials, parts and processes to meet requirements. Integrates new technologies as appropriate. Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements. Conducts analysis to determine reasons for failures of materials, parts or processes. Implements corrective and preventive actions. Designs, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements. Works under general direction.

Additionally…
The main focus of this assignment will be CH47 Chinook factory support. This includes being co-located on the factory floor working with existing processes and equipment associated with the rotorcraft production line, identifying effective manufacturing technology (processes, tools and equipment) to accomplish the build work statement, supporting repair of defective conditions on the aircraft, project management skills, specifically for projects that develop and insert manufacturing technology into current or future build process, and daily interaction with shop personnel. Identify safety and ergonomic improvements. Provide portable and perishable tool recommendations.

MORE SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
_Ability to work with factory mechanics, as well as other organizations such as ME, QA, IE and Engineering are required.
_Initiative, teaming, planning, project management and communication skills are required.
_Ability to innovate and strategize, as well as work with details to drive projects to successful completion and implementation.
_CAD, CATIA, or Solid Works, MS Office, 3D printing are required—Must state the level or experience and training in each of these skills.
_Assignment may require occasional domestic travel of approximately 5% from Boeing to Suppliers facilities.
__Assignment requires ability to work overtime and/or different shifts when needed.

Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
