Nacelle Unit Engineer

This position is located in Nagoya, Japan.

Designated Nacelle Unit Engineer for ATA 70, 71, 75 and 79 Nacelle/Thrust Reverser and Engine Build Unit, Aircraft Integration Department, Engineering Division
The responsible Engineer will work and lead activities of the Nacelle/Thrust Reverser and Engine Build Unit. This will include interfacing with other aircraft functions and engineering teams to coordinate and obtain the approval of any task assigned contributing to the aircraft Nacelle, Thrust Reverser and Engine Build Unit. This role requires interface with multiple suppliers and integration of the aforementioned systems to the aircraft;

Scope of Work:
  1. This Engineer will work as a team member of Unit 3 (Propulsion).
  2. Basic work scope is to develop and finalize MRJ-200 (MRJ-90) T/C design, compliant to all applicable Nacelle activities.
  3. This activity includes;
    1. Evaluating the current aircraft design, with respect to compliance to the Nacelle related airworthiness regulations of JCAB, FAA and EASA.
    2. Coordinating integration of design change activities originated from Powerplant and Fuel System requirements when required,
    3. Providing supporting data on the Nacelle for the Structures team and Nacelle Supplier for design, development and certification.
    4. Leading verification and showing-compliance activities, such as Ground and Flight Tests, Design Reviews, Inspections, Analysis, etc.

  4. All tasks required to perform above activities are considered within work scope; initiating/ reviewing related documents, technical calculation, interface discussion with the team members and all the other stakeholders including systems, structures, manufacturing, customer support, and partners.
  5. Provide plans and methods of compliance for Nacelle compliance activities and work with suppliers and Manager to establish the consensus best practice for system final design and certification.
  6. Execute the interface and compliance aspects associated with the Nacelle design and analysis including close coordination with the Nacelle Design and structural analysis team to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements for the Propulsion aspects of the Nacelle.

  • 10+ years experience 
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • International experience desirable. 
  • Must be able to stay in Japan a minimum of 3-5 years or until final certification.
