Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Telecommunications Technicians for openings in Cape Canaveral, FL.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and manage communication infrastructure to data servers, networking hardware, IP devices, and IT systems Implement and maintain new/current UPS systems network capabilities Maintain inventory of cameras, communications intercom systems, and test and calibration equipment Responsible for the implementation and upkeep of the sites Communications systems Wireless, wired, VOIP, recording, and other audio PA systems etc. Responsible for the implementation and upkeep of the sites video systems Acquisition, specifying, and maintaining camera systems Responsible for configuring and maintaining security cameras and servers, may include the security perimeter server Responsible for interfacing and managing contractors for trenching, terminations, and various installs including fiber and copper cabling Responsible for getting quotes for contract work, requisition of equipment, tooling, and preventive maintenance of designated hardware Installing hardware in servers, racks, etc. Document all physical layer network systems, communications systems, junction boxes, and camera systems using CAD software. Maintain and implement new video system software site wide
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of relevant work experience will be accepted in lieu of degree Experience with Windows Server 2003, 2008 R2 and Window 7 Enterprise Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Intermediate Experience working with Camera Management Systems Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small opening and climbing hand over hand, lifting 50 lbs., and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments heat, cold, rain Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE: Proficient manual electronic skills such as soldering, insulation and wiring, splicing, fiber optic fusion splicing, and component selection Knowledgeable in information technology systems, including PC-based computers, data servers, and networking Experience with digital video systems: still cameras, arrays of networked video cameras, high speed video cameras, infra-red cameras Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and customers Ability to work effectively in a team environment A strong passion for space exploration CAD experience is a plus Corning Fiber Installation (CFI) Certification Fiber Optics Designer (FOD) Certification Corning Fiber Designer (CFD) Certification
EDUCATION: Accredited Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
WORK HOURS: 5/50, 1st Shift: 6:00AM-4:30PM or 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM Typically 50 hour work weeks, schedule varies depending on site operational needs, flexibility required.
