HVAC Mechanical Engineer – Level 3

Job Description:
- The candidate will provide engineering support to include design, operation and maintenance of ground (fixed and portable) ECS/HVAC systems used at all Company VAFB Launch Sites and support facilities.
- Primary assignment is mechanical engineering support of design modifications, launch processing operations and system maintenance for VAFB Atlas V SLC-3E, Delta II SLC-2, and Delta IV SLC-6.
- Additional duties will include mechanical design engineering support of launch site ECS/HVAC modifications and other major facility modifications and/or systems upgrades.

Tasks will include the following:
- Develop new and revise existing operational test procedures and maintenance documentation associated with the launch vehicle ECS and facility HVAC systems to meet customer requirements.
- Serve as engineer responsible for disposition of corrective actions and coordination with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions.
- This will include management of facility projects to ensure effective and timely technical integration and implementation.

Education/Experience Required:
- Bachelor of Science from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience; or 5 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
- The successful candidate should have experience constructing, modifying and/or operating facility ECS/HVAC systems for space launch facilities and/or heavy industrial facilities.
- Experience with industrial process heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and equipment is essential.
- This position requires competent knowledge of facility ECS/HVAC systems, mechanical engineering design, CAD practices as well as a sound practical (hands-on) knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and industry standards.
