Job Description / Responsibilities:
The Facility Maintenance Engineer will support the maintenance and restoration of launch facilities in support of the Atlas V Launch Operations at Vandenberg Air Force Base California as part of our clients Engineering and Infrastructure Team. The successful candidate will provide management of all SLC-3 / Atlas V and other support facility activities, consisting of periodic maintenance and repair of launch facility and support building architectural, electrical, civil, structural and mechanical systems, including supporting facility corrosion control activities. Activities are performed by both contractor and company represented employees.

Candidate will coordinate the procurement of facility services, equipment, and furniture and perform a variety of engineering tasks in support of mechanical, electrical and structural facility maintenance. Candidate will perform investigation of anomalies encountered by maintenance personnel and be responsible for developing a corrective action plans and work documents for both company and contractor support. Will work with various government groups including Air Force and Base Civil Engineering personnel. Will specify and order various types of facility equipment.

The successful candidate shall prepare and obtain approval for Statements of Work with detailed contractor direction and manage contractor's activities for facility corrosion control, repair of building architectural systems, miscellaneous civil, structural and mechanical repairs for maintenance and repairs that are performed by external contractors.

In addition, the candidate will gather information, perform field walk-downs, and create, schedule, and manage the performance of maintenance and/or corrective Work Orders performed by Company represented personnel. Support will also include schedule integration and coordination of maintenance activities around launch processing activities. Candidate shall have relevant facility maintenance with an emphasis on architectural facility/building systems restoration and corrosion control.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent, with 10 years of professional experience.
- Experience with facilities engineering and plant operations.
- Experience working independently and in a team environment, with both represented and contractor personnel.
- Must have excellent communication, writing, and oral skiffs and have the ability to work with a wide range of team members including company represented personnel, customers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Able to analyze and interpret data to make sound judgments and recommendations.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, logic diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Basic experience with AutoCAD, create/revise engineering drawings as required.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
