Description
The Tactical Strike Missiles Line of Business requires Mechanical Design support on a legacy missile launcher program to implement a common fire control system. The successful candidate will support launcher engineering design, 2D drawings, and tasks associated with future production contracts. The candidate will be responsible for performing 3D parametric modeling in the development of solid models, creating and releasing 2D drawings including Interface Control Drawings (ICDs) and Source Control Drawings (SCDs), performing both Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and tolerance stacks analyses, and creating engineering release (ER) documentation. Effort will require coordination of design(s) with other mechanical and technical disciplines. Candidate must have the ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools. Self started needed capable of working in a dynamic, fast paced, team environment.
Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory
Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong technical background, or 10 years of equivalent experience, and 6-8 years of Computer Aided Design software experience using PTC CREO4 Software. Candidate must be capable of creating and interpreting detail, assembly, and installation type drawings, and have knowledge of the concept of tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Desired
Knowledge and proficiency with a model/drawing data management tool, Windchill. A general understanding or experience with manufacturing engineering and fabrication processes. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications. An active DOD Secret Clearance (with background performed within 5-years) is a plus. Prior LMC employment / experience is a plus
