RF Engineer

Description:
Seeking a RF Engineer for an opening in Mason, OH.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Currently seeking an RF Engineer (Contractor) with a broad range of experience that supports the analysis, design, implementation, optimization, and enhancement of RF equipment for launch vehicle and satellite communication systems. The successful candidate needs an understanding of detail design issues involved with RF design for mixers, filters, low-power driver amplifiers and power amplifiers for S-band and X-band frequencies. The individual will use simulation tools such as Microwave Office as well as RF test equipment. The individual will apply knowledge of component-level design for transistors, filters, mixers, oscillators and RF switches and will use test equipment to measure S-parameters, noise figure, intercept point, compression point, switching speed, and phase noise on electrical circuits and integrated assemblies.
• Design prototypes and provide sustaining engineering support for custom RF assemblies and sub-systems to customer specifications.
• Design, test, and troubleshoot RF sub-systems, integrated RF assemblies, and components through use of circuit analysis tools such as MWO.
• Evaluate, develop, and document new circuit and/or design techniques.
• Guide technicians on test, tune, debug, and optimization of prototype circuits and components to meet specification requirements and manufacturing requirements.
•Ability to plan effectively using various scheduling tools, flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments, ability to maintain confidentiality.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Five (5) years of related experience in designing, testing and troubleshooting RF sub-systems and integrated RF assemblies and components is required.
• Experience with RF design for circuits such as synthesizers, oscillators, mixers, filters, drivers and power amplifiers at S-band and/or X-band frequencies.
• Working knowledge of analog electronics, detailed design knowledge of RF theory and application, knowledge of RF test procedures.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of circuit computer aided circuit design tools and circuit simulators (such as Microwave Office, Pspice, Mathcad, Matlab).

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Aerospace experience, especially working with flight critical systems desired.

EDUCATION:
Accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering degree is required. A master’s degree is preferred.
