Quality Engineer - Level 4 (NC)

Description:
Develops processes, systems, and equipment that ensure the quality, reliability, and system safety of company or procured products and services. Provides quality system design and analysis review to validate the integrity of quality decisions that affect products and services.

Analyzes contractual, product definition, and specification requirements for the development or modification of methods, procedures, and metrics needed to ensure that quality standards and practices are attained. Analyzes and provides material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts, and equipment. Performs scientific evaluations and analyses and processes audits.

Tests and approves products, processes, equipment, and measurement systems. Ensures that resulting processes provide for configuration management. Participates in design and product reviews to ensure that producibility, inspectability, reliability, safety, Quality System integrity, and business process management objectives are met.

Performs such research as benchmarking to industry standards; analyzes and compiles performance reports and process control statistics in order to determine and improve process capability or product quality. Performs root cause analyses. Recommends and supports the implementation of corrective actions that are necessary to reduce or eliminate nonconformance to design specifications.

Interfaces with company employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. Develops and uses statistical methodologies to ensure that specified levels of safety, reliability, and process capability are achieved, maintained, or improved.

Apply knowledge of engineering (e.g. manufacturing, quality, and statistics, etc.) to analyze requirements of contracts, drawings and specifications to develop plans for the application of quality disciplines to processes, software, and hardware. Ability to develop and use statistical methodologies to ensure proper frequency of inspections from receipt of materials through delivery of products.

Ability to plan and coordinate improvements in manufacturing (e.g. hardware acceptance, variability reduction, developing key suppliers, and assembly operations, etc.).

Ability to perform design reviews to ensure that quality is engineered into the product.Requirements:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 10 to 14 years' related work experience, a Master's degree and 8 to 12 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Shift: Monday thru Friday starting @ 7:30AM
OT: Not very much if any at all

Manager is hopeful in finding someone who wants to convert to direct - Per Diem for candidates outside of 100 miles one way

SKILLS:
Must have Aerospace Manufacturing background preferably in Composites

Must be experienced in PFMEA
Must have Process Mapping
Extensive knowledge in development and implementation of control plans
8D and/or Apollo Root Cause Correction Process
Ideal candidate has experience with the following:

FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis)
DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)
Practical Quality Engineering
8D Process
RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)
7 Designs
9 Windows
Cause and Effect Matrix
Kepner Trigo Analysis Methodologies
Statistical Process Control
Mini Tab
DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve, Control)
ASQ Quality Engineering Certification
PFMEA/DFMEA (Process/Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Manager would prefer someone who knows the statistical side of Microsoft Excel

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The main struggle in finding the right candidates is most don't have the aforementioned skills/experience in Aerospace. Dig into each candidate to ensure they meet all of the criteria.
