MIL Harness Design Engineer

MIL Harness Design Engineer
(U.S. Citizenship Required*)
Sterling Heights, MI

Responsibilities:
• As Electrical Wiring Harness Design Engineer, design electrical wiring harnesses including component selection for connectors, backshells, sleeving, braiding, sealants, boots, transitions, etc.
• Determine harness layout through vehicle, branch points for multi-branch harnesses
• Design to environmental requirements for temperature, shock, vibration, submergence, exposure to harsh chemicals
• Design harnesses for MIL ground vehicle environment highly desired
• Design in Mentor Capital software highly desired
• Work with CAD draftsman to route harnesses in 3D CAD tools (Pro-E and/or NX)
• Work with CAD draftsman to develop released drawings for harnesses, electrical installations, wiring diagrams, etc.
• Work with systems engineers to define whole vehicle pin-level interconnect
• Work with physical architects to define harness routing channels, space claims

Qualifications:
• Required – able to obtain security clearance if necessary.
• Able to balance cost/schedule/technical priorities
• Occasional overtime, and weekend hours may be required to complete critical tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong multi-tasking skills

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and 5-7 years of experience
