Description: Our client, a pioneer in the design, production and support of innovative avionics, electronics, communications, and simulation & training solutions in the aerospace and defense industries, has new senior systems engineering positions available through PDS Tech as part of the Government Systems Communication Products Organization. You will be involved in the development of the next generation of Communication Products covering all spectrum bands within multiple airborne and ground platforms. You will work with engineering management, systems, hardware and software engineering technical leads/developers, production, and subcontractors to provide support for both Domestic and International customers.
Key responsibilities could include: system and subsystem requirements definition and validation, integration and verification testing; or supporting technical collaboration among systems, hardware and software design functions; resolution of technical problems that cross functional domain areas of hardware/software and development of systems related documentation.
Candidates must have the following skills: - A demonstrated understanding of the systems engineering development process. - Knowledge and experience in developing system requirements and decomposing them to functional disciplines for RF communication products. - Understanding of system validation and verification processes for technical product development with the ability to generate test descriptions and perform systems evaluation and testing of product systems. -Must possess or be eligible for obtaining and maintaining a U.S. DOD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements. -Bachelor's Degree in applicable engineering or science field and six years of related experience.
Preferred experience/skills: -Knowledge of communications engineering fundamentals including general radio transceiver architectures/designs, basic radio functional component blocks, performance specifications and test methodologies -A solid foundation of system, software, and hardware development processes -Familiarity with communication systems equipment including radio controls, radios, data modems, antenna couplers, power amplifiers and RF filters -Experience with System Integration and Testing of Software Defined Radios or complex embedded products -Analog, digital, and RF troubleshooting skills -Strong oral and written communication skills -Familiarity with military concepts of operations -Domain knowledge of commercial and/or military net-centric wireless communications waveforms/protocols -Acquainted with radio performance standards (military, commercial, FAA) -Understanding of manufacturing build, test, quality and customer acceptance review processes
