Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Inspector for an opening in Hawthorne, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: •Provide detailed receiving, in-process and final inspections on launch vehicle sub-assemblies using detailed drawings, CAD models, and established processes to verify conformance • Inspect, verify, and proactively support structures development and acceptance testing; assuring adherence to design, specification, and testing requirements • Document production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and process as required • Assist with the specification, purchase, and maintenance of calibrated measuring and test equipment • Communicate and help resolve quality related issues as they relate to the department • Document production non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes as required •Support Quality Management System policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives •Routinely observe technical operations and offer guidance and/or serve as an additional technical resource • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: •Minimum of 3 years practical experience in an aerospace industry is required •Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Material Review Board and Root Cause/Corrective Action systems •Must be able to read and interpret design drawings and CAD models •Strong team building and communication skills, able to effectively communicate with engineering and production groups •Ability to work in a fast-paced /cross-functional environment •Must be able to work 1st Shift (5:00 am -3:30 pm), and overtime based on business needs •Proficient with Microsoft package (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) •Able to stand for extended periods of time and climb ladders/stairs •Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, as needed •Must be able to walk to various buildings multiple times a day •Valid Driver’s License required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: •Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in a technical or engineering field •3 years of experience working with design data systems, manufacturing enterprise resource systems, electronic databases, or paperless work instructions •Certified Orbital Tube Welding •Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic, be innovative, detail oriented, possess initiative, be positive, and be people oriented •A&P License •Strong knowledge and experience in Aerospace Standards and its general practices •Strong understanding of safety programs and OSHA regulations and requirements •Practical experience working within Quality Management Systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001). •Experience with technical writing •Military experience
