SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION  
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
  • The primary work location will be in Nagoya, Japan. However, engineers may be requested to relocate to Seattle or Moses Lake (Washington State, USA) where aircraft flight testing is performed and may also be requested to travel to systems supplier sites to coordinate of development of the Autoland, Short Field, etc. (hereafter referred to as the Autopilot), the RNP, HUD, HF and any other Avionics (hereafter referred to as the Avionics).
  • Basic work scope is to coordinate the development and finalization of the MRJ T/C design, compliant to all applicable requirements (Market needs, Far25.1309, etc.) under the supervision of Product Improvement Development Leader (hereafter referred to as Leader).
  • Support the Leader.
  • Provide the direction of project objectives for all other aircraft functions, engineering teams and suppliers under the supervision of the Leader.
  • Coordinate with all other aircraft functions and engineering teams on each requirements, including scheduling, scoping, and cost under the supervision of the Leader.
  • Work as team in a multi-cultural and an international working environments in Japan Headquarter. Japanese Language skill is not required.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This activity includes;

  • Arranging of the optional specification based on product planning (Market needs) provided by the Basic Design Team under the supervision of the Leader.
  • Establishing the objective technical problem in development to be solved under the supervision of the Leader.
  • Creating the basic design of the MRJ T/C design, compliant to (a) under the supervision of the Leader.
  • Creating a development schedule of (b), Assigning the work to the responsible Unit2, 7B, etc., Interfacing with the responsible units to coordinate of development, Report the current progress of development to Leader.
  • Evaluating the current aircraft design, with respect to compliance to the Autopilot and the Avionics related airworthiness regulations of JCAB, FAA and EASA under the supervision of the Leader,
  • Coordinating integration of design change activities originated from the Autopilot and the Avionics requirements when required under the supervision of the Leader,
  • Presenting and discussing the Autopilot and the Avionics compliance with the Transport Authorities.
  • Leading verification and showing-compliance activities, such as Ground and Flight Tests, Design Reviews, Inspections, Analysis, etc under the supervision of the Leader.


  1. All tasks required to perform above activities are considered within work scope; initiating/ reviewing related documents, technical calculation, interface discussion with the team members and all the other stakeholders including systems, structures, manufacturing, customer support, and partners.
  2. Coach and mentor MITAC members about professional knowledge on the Autopilot and the Avionics.
  3. Provide expertize to assist in resolving the Autopilot and the Avionics performance during any rig testing or Flight testing.

COMMON QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technical Aviation with approximately 5 years. aviation related experience, or
  • Approximately 5+ years in an aviation engineering organization Aerospace or Aircraft Systems Engineering.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
  • Ability to identify potential issues with machinery development, manufacturing processes or parts.
  • Needs the ability to develop, plan and implement short and long term goal.
  • Ability to adapt to change.

JOB-RELATED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Approximately 5 years+ of experience in managing projects of developing of finalizing the Autopilot and the Avionics for either a major tier 1 suppliers or Aerospace OEMs.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision, be detail-oriented, flexible in terms of hours and responsibilities as work requires, and able to organize multiple priorities and work deadlines (in accordance with Test Plan/ Authority guideline/ certification).
  • In depth understanding of program management related to the Autopilot and the Avionics design and development good practice.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and certifying recent new aircraft programs.
  • Ability to strategize, plan and execute objectives on-time to quality.
  • Required knowledge: ATA22, ATA23, ATA31, ATA 34, ATA 42, JCAB, FAA and EASA

 

  1. Autopilot.

Approximately 5+ years of experience in ATA22 (Auto-Flight),or ATA32(Landing Gear).
Or, any of the following experience
Have negotiation experience with Authority (FAA, EASA, Transport Canada, ANAC, etc.)  and/or have DER (or equivalent) qualification,
Have written and reviewed documents related to cert plan, V&V, safety assessment, etc.
Have directly worked with major Avionics suppliers such as Rockwell Collins, etc.
 
  1. Avionics

Approximately 5+ years of experience in Avionics.
Or, any of the following experience
Have negotiation experience with Authority (FAA, EASA, Transport Canada, ANAC, etc.) and/or have DER (or equivalent) qualification,
Have written and reviewed documents related to cert plan, V&V, safety assessment, etc.
Have directly worked with major Avionics suppliers such as Rockwell Collins, etc.
Prefer abilities as follow.
2-1) HUD (Head up Display)
Have experience in developing the Head-up-display System.
Have knowledge of the following ATA chapters: ATA23(Communications), ATA31(indicating/Recording Systems), ATA 34 (Navigation), and ATA 42(Integrated Modular Avionics).
Have directly worked with major Avionics suppliers such as Rockwell Collins, etc.
Have knowledge of STC (Supplemental Type Certificate).
Have experience in Safety analysis.
 
2-2) Wi-Fi Project Development
Have experience in developing the Wi-Fi System.
Have directly worked with major suppliers such as UTAS/Rockwell Collins .
Have knowledge of STC (Supplemental Type Certificate).
Have experience in Safety analysis.
 
2-3) HF/ADF Project Development
Have experience in developing the HF/ADF System
Have knowledge of the following ATA chapters: ATA23(Communications), ATA31 (Indicating/Recording Systems), ATA 34 (Navigation), and ATA 42(Integrated Modular Avionics).
Have directly worked with major Avionics suppliers such as Rockwell Collins, etc.
Have knowledge of STC (Supplemental Type Certificate.
