Overview: Provide key support in performing supplier capability and capacity assessments related to procurement in a supply chain team-based environment.
Conduct onsite analysis at suppliers pertaining to manufacturability and technical capabilities, and support development of statement of works for supplier RFQ/RFP's.
Develop subcontract management specifications and work statements through coordination with multiple functional organizations in support of implementing procurement strategies related to metallic structures, assemblies & bond structures, or non-metallic/metallic raw material.
Support subcontractor selections and in providing project leadership during supplier start-up and into full production rate. Required to directly support manufacturing engineering and tooling analysis in supplier fact-find and negotiations, and in preparation of statement of works.
Participate in integrated project team as required to achieve overall results to support program procurement strategy.
Through knowledge of supply chain systems and processes, SAP, MES, MEDS, and other tools is critical to support efforts in defining commodity statement of works, project plans, etc… required for implementation of specific procurement strategies.
Requires knowledge of the Aerospace industry, manufacturing methods and processes and systems.
Will interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, process improvement, and supply chain management processes.
Responsibilities: Develop technical statements of work for supply base during bid process.
Coordinate schedules with suppliers and engineering to track status of parts in order to meet delivery dates.
Communicate part priority to engineering to expedite progressive releases and final engineering to supply base.
Work to resolve part constraint at supply base due to technical issues.
Evaluate Supplier Information Requests (SIRs), to give rapid clarification of technical issues to submit Request to Engineering (RTEs) to revise engineering.
Interrogate Catia models in order to evaluate the SIRs and subsequent technical actions.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a BA/BS degree and 6 plus years of related experience. If no Bachelor's degree, the candidate will have and Associate's degree and 10 years of experience or a High School diploma or Accredited GED or equivalent and 14 years of experience.
Previous Aerospace/Aircraft manufacturing industry experience are required.
Candidate must be able to support required business travel (up to 25%) and must be self-motivated.
Must have a strong computer skill and have the ability to use MS Project, Excel, and remaining Microsoft Suite. SAP experience is a plus.
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with cross-functional teams and outside suppliers/customers.
Candidate must have experience with and the ability to create supplier build packages, perform supplier production capability/capacity analysis, and support the supply chain fact find negotiation with strategic suppliers.
A good understanding of metallic structures, assemblies & bond structures, or non-metallic / metallic raw material manufacturing/supply chain processes is required.
Candidate should have experience with supporting RFQs/RFPs through start-up and statement of work transfer by assuring all (machine part, sheet metal, tooling, structural assembly and raw material) requirements have been achieved.
Candidate should have technical knowledge of manufacturing processes for assembly, sheet metal, machined parts and composite component fabrication.
