Sr. IT Systems Administrator

Description:
Our client, a global security and aerospace company, is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. Solving complex challenges and delivering innovative solutions to help customers keep people safe and provide them essential services, our client is hiring for the following critical need:

Sr. IT Systems Administrator

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
• Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems.
• Serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues.
• Make recommendations for hardware and software purchases.
• Interact with third-party technology vendors and internal database staff.
• Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.
• Install new software, troubleshoot, grant permissions to applications and training users.
• Responsible for the day-to-day support of Server services.
• Perform Server administration for Server Operating Systems.
• Perform administration of physical and virtualized servers.
• Responsible for the configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of physical and virtual hardware.
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot network related interfaces on servers.
• Perform OS and vendor software patching on servers.
• Monitor Physical and Virtual Servers performance using monitoring tools.
• Perform, maintain, troubleshoot and conduct analysis of alerts on Servers.
• Perform administration of physical and virtualized servers using industry standard technologies.
• Perform administration of servers in lab environments that are physical and virtualized using industry standard technologies.
• Execute plans, design, and implement necessary configurations to ensure compliance with back-up and disaster recovery policies, procedures for servers.
• Execute Security Compliancy processes and policies.
• Begin to provide mentoring to less experience IT personnel.
• Provide detailed technical, business or application knowledge to team members.
• Lead small continuous process improvement efforts.
• Maintain Server related standards, policies, and procedures.
• Research and troubleshoot Server technical issues and communicates status to Server team and stakeholders.
• Provide resolutions to a diverse range of complex problem
• Elevate more complex issues.
• Determine and develop approach to solutions.
• Ensure infrastructure is reliable, flexible, integrated and anticipates future needs.
• Contribute to the development of organization's goals and objectives.
• Lead large team to drive tasks to completion.

Qualification:
• A Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance, with SCI eligibility, is required at time of hire.
• Must successfully pass a credit check.
• Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields.
• Use judgment within defined policies and practices.
• Work under limited direction.
• Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
• Requires a solid understanding of Server based operating systems.
• As the Subject Matter Expert, have the ability to mentor others on administrating the server environment.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with non-technical and technical audiences, and IT leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of individuals including technical and non-technical staff, and IT leadership.
• Ability to work individually or collaboratively as part of a high-performance team.
• Enhanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement project plans for upgrades and system enhancements.
• Demonstrated ability to write policies, procedures, and create system documentation.
• Enhanced troubleshooting skills within the Server OS as well as both networking and storage technologies.
• Must have hands-on experience developing, deploying and supporting large-scale enterprise server solutions.
• Take ownership of getting the task done on schedule and within budget.
• Leadership ability to effectively motivate, guide and influence others to successful outcomes.
• Show initiative on assignments, exercise independent judgment and professionally execute projects with little direction.
• Practical knowledge of access, permissions and security that gives the clients the access to the data they need to perform their daily activities.
• Working knowledge to create and run scripts to automate repetitive processes.
*U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required combined with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
