Direct support of the manufacturing process with technical cognizance for part fabrication, assembly and tooling. Provide Manufacturing Engineering expertise to operations in a composite production environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for technical support of manufacturing development and integration for production. Resolve issues pertaining to vendor schedule and/or quality.
Responsible for the implementation of tooling and or production planning, from original concept through to production. Responsible to validate the tooling functionality and or part conformity, and production part quality in timely manner to support the customer delivery schedule.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing the integration and deployment of APQP methods and tools to ensure right first time product quality in a composite manufacturing environment.
Ability to drive transition efforts, assess risks and think strategically about optimal, cost effective solutions for transition methods and processes. Work comfortably on high profile assignments.
Accountable for product development, new product quotes, tool fabrication quotes, first article development, configuration changes that involve cost estimation, schedule coordination, build process definition, and implementation.
Utilize root cause analysis and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean initiatives.
Develop technical solutions to complex manufacturing problems.
Responsible for disposition and follow up on nonconforming materials, detail parts or assemblies as an Engineering member of Material Review Board.
Responsible for ensuring parts, assemblies, and tools meet industry standards and customer requirements.
Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers.
Ensures that export compliance, data protection and other relevant regulations and legislation for the site are followed.
Ensures client Safety policies, procedures and best practices are adhered to by the E&Q team at all times.
B.S. degree in engineering or related discipline preferred and/or a combination of eleven to fourteen years of education and relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Masters degree in engineering, engineering management, industrial management or business preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience with a minimum of four years of manufacturing support experience. Composite fabrication and assembly experience required.
Requires a thorough knowledge of multiple engineering applications and manufacturing procedures.
Possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Has expertise in relevant technology and independently applies known principles and practices.
Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations and using office equipment.
Frequently required to spend long hours walking and standing on the production floor
May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
Must occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials
