Software Mission Assurance Engineer ( Dulles, VA ) 8900646
12 month contract

Job Responsibilities
•Represent the interest of S/W/System Safety & S/W Assurance
•Participate in S/W Configuration Control Board (SCCB) on a regular basis to assess compliance to process & to monitor S/W changes that could have safety impact
•Participate in Engineering Review Board (ERB) when S/W changes are proposed
•Participate in test readiness reviews, S/W peer reviews, & others
•Review S/W safety products, such as development plans, IV&V reports, test reports, etc.
•Evaluate S/W requirements for testability, ambiguity & consistency
•Review S/W requirements for proper identification of “Safety” requirements
•Maintain the Safety Critical S/W Determination Report
•Generate the S/W Safety Certification Report
•Evaluate problem reports for safe closure or safe “use as is” determinations
•Evaluate compliance audits for safe closure / no closure of findings & observations performed by other S/W Assurance Engs on the program
•Perform S/W Assurance Compliance Audits & track audit findings to closure
•Support & provide S/W team training as needed on related compliance processes
•Witness S/W qualification testing
•Maintain the CBCS Analysis Report
•Assess mission comm& database for proper marking of hazardous comm&s / generate report
•Maintain the S/W Safety Program Plan
•Participate in customer (NASA) audits of S/W & S/W safety activities
•Work the closure of hazard control verifications related to CBCS S/W, FDIR, & ground S/W
•Develop & deliver metrics & reports

Required Qualifications
•BS+ in S/W Enging, systems Enging or related field
•Experience in S/W development & in S/W quality assurance
