What You’ll Do:
•Create new and/or revises existing drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, and bills of material for our products
•Determine scaling; insert necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning.
•Prepare specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepare complete production detail drawings; contribute design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
•Check drawings versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standard engineering drafting practices and standards.
•Work with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
•Create Engineering Change Notices detailing the necessary changes to released designs, update drawings/models/BOMs as needed, and route change requests through the approval process.
•Create and revise documentation detailing assembly and/or testing.
•May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.
•Research and interface with vendors on products that meet job design requirements.
•Use the Engineering Change database to implement changes in a design document to cut costs where needed and record changes that are needed to improve on a product.
•Work under limited supervision

What You’ll Need:
•This position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
•Possess necessary computer skills to proficiently handle routine tasks
•General knowledge of design principles and techniques including computer aided design (CAD).
•Trained/ experienced in the use of current strategic CAD tools (Pro-E/Creo or Solid Works preferred).
•General knowledge of design documentation standards (e.g ASME Y14.5M, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
•Aware of simple mechanical stress; structural, thermal and tolerance analysis.
•Demonstrates initiative, applies personal talent to practical solutions.
•Works within the trade space defined (cost / schedule / technology).
•Applies general knowledge effectively in team environment.
•Able to accept and integrate constructive feedback.
•Demonstrates the ability to weigh risks and make progress in the face of uncertainty.
•Willingly takes on problems and commits to solutions.
•General proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
•Good written and verbal communications skills.
•Fulfills role as a reliable team member and understands own role within team.
•Manages time to ensure an assignment's completion.

Education & Experience:
•Associate's Degree or equivalent is required combined with a minimum of 1+ year of relevant experience.
