MRB Inspector

PDS is seeking a MRB Inspector for an open position in Greensboro, NC. 

General Summary:

The MRB Inspector will perform inspections and generate discrepancy reports as necessary found to not meet HACI requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform incoming Inspection utilizing work instruction, marked drawings and electronic worksheets.
  2. Provide visible identification of inspection status.
  3. Maintain inspection records in hard copy QC files and Electronic Databases.
  4. Generate discrepancy reports as necessary for inspection data found to not meet engineering requirements.
  5. Utilize hand measuring instruments, apply inspection methods, and techniques necessary to verify part conformance to engineering requirements including completion of inspection test reports.
  6. Maintain the integrity, identification and security of inspection tools and equipment. Perform periodic calibration in accordance with calibration procedures.
  7. Obtain engineering drawings or marked drawings from engineering needed for inspection.
  8. Repackage and preserve part integrity after inspection.
  9. Maintain Inventory control of rejected materials in MRB Room and bond areas and record material transactions in SAP as necessary to conform with MRB dispositions from the material Review Board
  10. Perform periodic shelf life inspections as specified as may be required.
  11. Assist with 1st article inspection of various aircraft components 

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
1.     Associate Degree (Technical) and/or minimum 4 years quality or manufacturing related experience including mechanical and/or composite, and/or systems assembly.
2.     One year of direct aircraft quality experience potentially may be substituted for each year of college.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1.     Ability to communicate effectively with other personnel.
2.     Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentations.
3.     Proficient in data collection, analysis, and presentation.
4.     Strong computer skills, experienced with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel, some knowledge of SAP would be helpful. CATIA skills are preferred.
5.     Strong organizational and technical skills.
6.     Basic understanding and use of manufacturing inspection equipment. This includes but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, plug and thread gages and electronic height gages.
7.     Experience in blue print reading including true-positional tolerancing per ANSI/Y-14.5 and interpret ANSI geometric tolerancing.
8.     Familiarity with machining operations including CNC, milling and grinding, etc.
9.     Broad knowledge of quality principles and processes, finishing processes, shop fabrication sequences, structural design and major aircraft components and machining methods and practices. 
10.  Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9120 standards preferred.
11.  Strong understanding of tooling and production processes preferred.
12.  Experienced in the use, calibration and care of all types of Inspection hand measuring
instruments preferred.
13.  Knowledge of Inspection methods, techniques, and shop practices for the manufacture of castings, sheet metal, machined parts, or fabrications.
14.  Inspection of Electrical harnesses, panel assemblies, or other misc. aircraft components preferred.
15.  Use of material handling equipment and performance safe handling methods.
