Electric Systems Specialist for ATA27

1. Title:
Designated Electrical Systems Specialist for ATA 27, High Lift Systems, Pilot Controls, and Horizontal Stabilizer Teams.
The responsible Engineer will lead and manage activities for the development and certification of the electro-mechanical systems for the aircraft

2. Scope of Work:
The Engineer will work as a member of the IPT for Flight Controls Systems with the development and certification of the aircraft. In particular, for the electrical systems design activities for the High Lift Systems, Pilot Controls, and Horizontal Stabilizer Trim System. The work scope includes but is not limited to the following:
(1) Evaluating the current aircraft design, with respect to compliance to all applicable electro mechanical system requirements including those related to the airworthiness regulations of JCAB/FAA and EASA.
(2) Review and validation of the requirements for the Flight Controls Systems.
(3) Coordinating integration of design changes originated from requirements, analysis, testing etc.
(4) Leading verification and showing of compliance activities including: Design Reviews, Inspections, Analysis, Technical Calculations, Simulation, Rig Tests, Ground and Flight Tests, Inspections, and Equipment Qualification.
(5) Provide expertise for the activities associated with DO-254/DO-178 and ARP 4754.
(6) Interfacing with the team members and all other stakeholders including: Design, Systems, Structures, Electrical power, Test, Flight Operations, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Suppliers etc.
(7) Managing the technical requirements of contracts with applicable system suppliers and other interfacing suppliers as appropriate.
(8) Providing expertise to assist in resolving the electrical system performance during Rig testing, and Ground and Flight testing.
(9) Provide systems expertise for the EME verification activities including equipment and system level testing.
(10) Preparation and review of certification documentation for the electrical design of the Flight Control Systems.
(11) Presenting and discussing the electrical systems design and compliance with the Airworthiness Authorities (JCAB/ FAA and EASA).
(12) Education of company members about professional knowledge in electro mechanical systems design and certification.

3. Reports to:
IPT Engineering Team Leader for the Flight Controls Systems.

4. Work Location:
The primary work location will be in Nagoya, Japan. However, Engineers may be requested to relocate to Seattle or Moses Lake (Washington State, USA) where aircraft flight testing is performed. Travel may also be requested to system supplier sites to manage system development and certification activities.
