Sr Project Engineer

Sr. Project Engineer
Chula Vista, CA
12+ month contract

We are seeking a senior level project engineer to work on large scale aerospace projects. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education & Experience
•Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the management of projects with at least 3 years in the aerospace and/or airline industry
•Experience with projects in an engineering test environment a plus, FAA material qualification testing preferred
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology a minimum, mechanical, aero, civil, or materials science preferred
•Expertise in developing and executing operating budgets
•Experience with quality management systems and/or regulatory compliance desired

Skills
•Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels required
•Demonstrated ability to multi-task with strong task orientation and attention to detail required
•Experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS) a plus
•Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain project plans required
•Ability to coordinate with people in different project teams and functional roles required
•Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal required
•Experience in Risk Management a plus
•Working knowledge of basic activities of stress, M&P, manufacturing and test engineering disciplines required
•Knowledge of ACE/LEAN methodologies a plus
Required Computer Skills

•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
•Expertise in MS Project
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

•PMI Project Management Professional certification a plus
