It is preferred that the candidate be Secret cleared up front; however, this is not required.

Responsibilities:
Orbital ATK in Elkton, MD is seeking to fill a position for level III CAD Design (Drafter) Tech .

Job responsibilities include:
• Prepare 3D models with associated 2D drawings using IDEAS and NX CAD tools from input that may be provided in the form of notes, sketches, general or specific instructions from Engineers in a field of specialization such as:
o Mechanical
o Tooling
o Electrical
o Electronics
• Assignments may require, but not limited to:
o Modeling and drawing components
o Portions of systems
o Modifications to existing models and drawings to improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Gather information
• Perform necessary calculations for sizing of part interfaces
• Coordinate design criteria with other Design Drafters, Engineering, Manufacturing and Tooling.

Candidate sought must be able to carefully follow verbal and written instructions, quickly adapt to processes and different CAD software in a fast paced environment. Candidate must be able to work thoroughly and accurately and be comfortable working extended periods of time at a work station.

Skills/requirements:
High School education
2 year relative Degree or certificate minimum with 4 years drafting experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in use NX 10.0
Candidate to be confident in application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Experienced with ASME drawing standards
Experience as drawing checker a plus.
