Duties:
**NOTE: This is a backfill and this role will be extended, possibly up to 2 years **



** Candidates must be U.S. Citizens **



** Permanent residents are NOT eligible for this role **



** Dual citizens are not eligible for this role. Also, candidates with a current non-U.S. passport in addition to a U.S. passport are not acceptable **





** Candidates must have Aerospace Specifications Writing experience. **



** In-person interviews are required. Candidates should be local or able to attend an in-person interview at their own expense. **



Under general supervision and following established policies, ensures that technical documents are complete, accurate and adhere to military, customer, contract flow down, and Aerojet Rocketdyne requirements in both form and content.
Review documentation for general layout, format, style and organization as well as writing, graphics and critiquing.
Work with the Integrated Product Teams to plan, write, and edit technical specifications/standards, reports, proposals, etc. for print and electronic publication.
Responsible for determining the format required based on contractual requirements and Military Standards.
Translate technical input into well-written, precise technical documents.
Assists Configuration Management and others with technical reports, manuals, and presentations.
Skills:
Required:

Knowledge of Mil-Standards for the preparation of specifications.
Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with all levels of personnel.
Strong background in English grammar and composition.
Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
Required knowledge of various computer systems and applicable software documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Writer, etc.) to prepare reports and documents.
Desired:

Windchill PLM, Visio and DOORS experience a plus.
Understanding of copyright, export control (ITAR) and intellectual property policies.
Ability to read drawings and view CAD models helpful.






Education:
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and three (3) years of experience in a directly related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
