2219 - FLIGHT SIMULATION SPECIALIST - resume word doc only
Develop aircraft simulation models. These models are used in the design and validation process of a new aircraft, in support of in-service aircraft and for incident investigation. The models are also deployed in training simulators used to instruct flight crews throughout the world. Flight simulation engineers support the qualification of these flight crew training simulators with regulatory authorities.
Use data from computational fluid dynamics, empirical aerodynamic estimation methods, wind tunnel tests and derive aerodynamic derivatives from flight test data to conceive and update the simulation models.
Develop and maintain bombardier's pilot-in-the-loop engineering flight simulators and participate in planning and testing of new and existing designs, in collaboration with flight test crews.
Interact closely with the stability and Control, System Simulation, Fly-by-Wire, Loads, Systems Engineering and aircraft/engine performance groups, and flight simulator manufacturers.
Use state of the art software, such as Matlab/Simulink, MAtrixX/SystemBuild, to develop the simulation models. In addition, customization and automation of these tools is achieved through programming in C/C++ and other software packages.
Have a Bachelor's or master's degree in Aeronautical (or Mechanical) engineering as well as a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in the Aerospace industry.
Have good knowledge and experience in simulation model development, real-time simulation, flight dynamics, flight testing, test data analysis and application of North American and European simulator qualification requirements.
Have good programming skills. Knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating system environments, Matrixx/SystemBuild, Matlab/Simulink, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint are essential.
Have good written and oral communication skills.
It would be an asset to have good knowledge and some experience in wind tunnel testing, flight testing, test data analysis and the application of the FAA/EASA Part 25 certification requirements, along with PV-WAVE, Frame Maker.
Have a thorough understanding of flight simulation model generation for design, rig and pilot training purposes.
