Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordination of the mass properties team, completion of vehicle weight reporting, and final aircraft weights.
Lead a team of Mass Properties engineers to control weight and balance characteristics of the aircraft in order to meet performance requirements
Responsible for developing and presenting weight status or technical data to program management, the customer or design groups
Guide and mentor other mass properties engineers on the program
Responsible for coordination of full aircraft weighing and weight reports
Determine approaches to and leads development of, complex weight, balance and mass properties data
Lead the definition of complex weight, balance and mass properties related design requirements
Participate in developing challenging customer specification commitments
Determine approaches to and leads development of, vehicle or system configuration guidance
Lead high-level weight control efforts
Oversee the estimation, calculation, measurement and verification of mass, weight, stiffness and inertias
Lead development and maintenance of weight, balance and mass properties accounting systems and oversees weight and balance reports
Create innovative concepts and leads the development and implementation of new processes and tools
Work under minimal direction.
Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry combined with 9 + years of relevant work experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
5+ years of Mass properties experience
Experience with aircraft weight and center of gravity estimation, calculation, verification and statistical analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Worked directly with military customers on programs
Experience with the Common Mass Properties Analysis Tool (CMPAT)
3+ years’ experience with engineering Bills of Material (BOMs) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems
Experience with Product Data Management tools/systems such as TeamCenter and ENOVIA
3+ years’ experience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g. NX, Catia, CADD)
Experience with applicable industry recommended practices (SAWE RP 7 & 8) and Joint Service Technical Manual for Aircraft Weight and Balance
3+ years’ experience with weights and/or mass properties engineering
Experience with Weight Control methods and techniques
