Test Engineer – Iron Bird

Description:
Responsibilities:
1. Design comprehensive test plans and equipment for the validation of complex mechanical and structural components and systems.
2. Conceptualize simple and elegant solutions to overcome task challenges.
3. Author or assist in the creation of technical documents, including test plans and procedures.
4. Collaborate with internal customers on integrated program teams to establish and verify specific test requirements.
5. Coordinate with support teams and vendors to procure, manufacture, and assemble test articles, as well as test stand hardware and equipment.
6. Collaborate with the supply chain team to identify and bid on outside contracts for suppliers and equipment providers.
7. Participate in the test engineering review, approval, and release process.
8. Ensure durability, reliability, and safety of assigned scope.
9. Identify and resolve conflicting design requirements.
10. Coordinate with other disciplines for seamless integration.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in systems or structures testing or design.
2. Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
3. CAD Modeling Experience – 3DX or CATIA v5 Required.
4. Background in structural or systems testing.
5. Proficiency in fixture design and analysis.
6. Familiarity with composites and metallic primary structures.
7. Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
8. U.S. Persons status as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).
9. Experience using PXI, cDAQ NI Hardware.

• Key emphasis on the design of test fixtures/rig/test beds.
• Not looking for individuals solely focused on test verification/certification/validation; seeking hands-on contributors.
