Job Description:

Engineer II, III, IV – External Loads

The External Loads Engineer is responsible for the development of the externally applied loads to the air vehicle.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development of air vehicle dynamic and static load conditions and values.

• Reviews flight test data of previous aircraft to establish an external loads data base for which parametric loads and loads conditions can be developed.

• Build and execute COPTER simulations of loads conditions to generated aircraft body forces and inertial loads.

• Coordinate with design IPTs, Internal Loads, Dynamics, Weights, Handling Qualities and Aerodynamics to ensure COPTER model and loads cases are consistent and applicable to aircraft design and intended usage.

• Maintain up to date external loads and simulation models

• Prepare and maintain the aircraft Structural Design Criteria.

Required Skills:

Position Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in external loads, test and verification.

• Previous experience in Flight Sciences (loads, dynamics, aerodynamics, handling qualities) is preferred.

• Familiarity with Bell flight simulation codes (COPTER, GTR) and flight test data analysis codes (CAFTA), or industry equivalents is preferred

Min years of experience:

• Multiple labor grades will be consider for this opportunity

o Eng II - Minimum of 4 years experience or 3 years with a Master’s degree

o Eng III – Minimum of 8 years experience or 7 years with a Master’s degree

o Eng IV – Minimum of 12 years experience or 11 years with a Master’s degree

Degree Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Major in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.

• Masters Degree is preferred.
