What You’ll Do:

Wire Harness Design Support is a unique opportunity to use electrical skills. This position also allows the possibility to see released engineering be installed while supporting the build during shipside support.
During the design phase include:
Analyze functional schematics and wire diagrams to understand system design.
Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
Perform design reviews to validate spatial integration and requirements verification.
Develop and maintain electrical product details, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry).
During the build phase:
Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
Work under general direction.
Support the development, maintains and releases electrical/mechanical drawings, systems design or engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry and governmental standards.
Using design tools, prepare documentation and incorporates design changes.
Create, develop and maintain systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and assisting in identifying design discrepancies.
Support engineering system design and functionality validation activities.
Develop and maintain product installation designs and part designs ranging from simple to moderately complex.
Coordinate activities and products with internal partners and external suppliers.
Works under general direction.
 

What You’ll Need:

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance is required at time of hire, an active Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
Some travel may be required.
*U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.



Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 year of related work experience, 5 years of related work experience, etc.).
Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
5+ years of designing or supporting electrical wire harness Design and Installations
