Buying/Planning Specialist (Global Planner, Master Scheduler) | Tucson, AZ

• $33.65-$43.27 per hour | M-F 7 AM - 3:30 PM 

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Buying/Planning Specialist (Global Planner, Master Scheduler) to join a leading organization in Tucson, Arizona. In this key role, you will leverage your expertise in procurement and material planning to ensure the timely delivery of materials, optimize inventory, and support new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

As a Global Planner and Master Scheduler, you will manage material procurement and planning for multiple product lines, collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to meet manufacturing schedules and minimize excess inventory.

Material Planning & Procurement: Determine material requirements, schedule procurement, and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet manufacturing build requirements.

Supplier Relationships & Negotiations: Build relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and assess vendor bids. Resolve any issues with invoices or defective materials.

Customer Liaison: Act as a primary contact for customer requirements, including new product introductions, change requests, and design updates.

Forecasting & Scheduling: Review customer forecasts, manage production plans, and ensure material availability to meet deadlines.

Process Improvement: Lead new supplier account creation, develop process improvements, and train junior purchasing staff.

Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accuracy in documentation, help resolve issues with materials, and oversee product lifecycle management.

What You Need to Succeed:

Required Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships.

• Strong understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) and procurement processes in an electronic manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office, ERP systems).

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under tight deadlines.

• Ability to plan and coordinate deliveries with attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the aerospace or high-tech manufacturing industry.

• Familiarity with engineering change processes and new product introductions.

• Ability to mentor and train new employees.
