Senior Security Manager

Description:
Enea has a position for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of architects, software engineers, and QA specialists to design and develop high assurance network security products. The successful candidate must be a highly technical and effective team leader who can inspire, motivate, mentor, and direct an engineering team toward the completion of its goals. As an engineering manager, the candidate will work in cross-functional teams to define product capabilities, resource requirements, engineering task definitions, and product security. This position requires strong technical management experience of Linux system level software development and network security projects.

Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering team on product design and development
• Produce product development plans, resource estimates, work breakdown, and task scheduling to ensure successful execution of engineering projects
• Coordinate, conduct and facilitate team technical discussions and participate in product design decisions
• Monitor and track progress to ensure timely completions of project milestones and deliveries
• Act as subject matter expert on assigned products and their technical implementation
• Represent product development team at internal technical exchange in customer meetings/contacts
• Provide engineering guidance and technical recommendation to project management as part of engineering decision solutions
• Identify, address and correct issues proactively; in order maintain or attain acceptable team performance metrics

Required Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline
• Minimum 10 years professional experience in the software engineering field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a team lead or engineering management role
• Ability to manage technical teams and demonstrated history of successful project delivery
• Knowledge of SELinux, network and security protocols (TCP/IP, IPSEC, TLS, PKI, HTTP/HTTPS) and understanding of firewall architecture and implementation
• Successful track record of managing engineering teams to develop commercial network security products
• In-depth understanding of Agile software development framework and demonstrated experience in applying Agile methodologies to meet project specific needs
• Understanding of design and development process with emphasis on continuous integration in a test driven environment
• Experience with development and project planning/tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, TFS, SVN
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Additional Experience/Skills:
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline
• Background in high assurance guard or cross domain application development
• Experience with computer security concepts, information assurance, mandatory access control, role based access control, authentication/authorization, certification and accreditation
• Agile certification (PMI-ACP, CSM, CSP, SAFe)
